Before using Fax Broadcasting
Fax broadcasting, often called broadcast fax, is a fast and easy way of sending documents simultaneously to many recipients. Many businesses use this service to promote their products or services, make announcements, send press releases and solicit donations.
Also known as fax marketing, this service has fast becoming a trend in the telecommunications industry. There have been cases, however, of unsolicited fax messages being sent to promote the company or brand. One example was the case on an NFL team sending thousands of unsolicited fax advertisements. This created quite a stir in the industry especially when a class-action lawsuit was filed against the team.
Before engaging in fax marketing, here are important things to remember when using fax broadcasting service:
1. Be responsible: Do you find spam messages irritating in your email? Same goes for fax broadcasting. Not all people like to receive unsolicited fax messages. Do not bombard people with your fax messages. They might not like it.
2. Opt-out is required: This is a basic rule that applies to fax broadcasting. It should also show the name of the company, contact number and details on how the customer can opt-out of receiving faxes in the future.
3. Limit the number of faxes you send: According to the industry standards, no more than 10 faxes should be sent to one person in a 24-hour period. That also goes to specific days of sending faxes, i.e no faxing on Sundays and public holidays.
